WASHINGTON: Harrison Ford is being given one of the aviation industry’s top awards for his work as a pilot. The Indiana Jones star, who has been a longtime flight enthusiast, is to be honoured at the 6th Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards.

The 66-year-old won his first pilot’s licence in the 1990s. He became chairman of the Young Eagles programme of the Experimental Aircraft Association in 2004. There he used to teach youngsters and even flew almost 300 children in his De Havilland Beaver plane, reports Contactmusic. He is being honoured for his work with the programme.
