Kathmandu entered the second round of the ANFA-Mayos Inter -School Football Tournament beating Nawalparasi 2-0 at Sano Gaucharan. Also, Banke beat Dang 2-0, Jhapa thrashed Dolakha 7-0 and Nuwakot and Sarlahi played a 1-1 draw.
At ANFA, Ilam beat Bara 6-1 and the match between Lam-jung and Kaski ended at 2-2.
Rautahat beat Surkhet 4-1 at Buddhi Bikash Mandal. Lalitpur beat Kailali 3-1, Baglung beat Sunsari 2-1 and Panchthar and Chitwan played a 2-2 draw. At Police Training Centre, Rupandehi beat Dhankuta 4-0, Saptari beat Bhaktapur 4-0, Kavrepalanchok outplayed Mahottari 4-0 and Makawanpur edged out Tanahun 3-2.
Morang beat Dhanusha 2-0, while Udaypur and Kanchanpur played a 1-1 draw. At Jawalakhel, Parsa beat Siraha 1-0 and Palpa outplayed Sindhupalchok 2-1.
The tournament has been jointly organised by education and sports ministry, National Sports Council and All Nepal Football Association, under the sponsorship of Himalayan Noodles and Snacks Pvt Ltd to mark the 33rd birthday of Crown Prince Paras.
Friday’s fixtures: Ilam vs Kaski and Lamjung vs Bara at ANFA Complex; Siraha vs Sindhupalchok and Palpa vs Parsa at JYC; Dhankuta vs Saptari, Bhaktapur vs Rupandehi, Mahottari vs Makawanpur and Tanahun vs Kavrepalanchok at Police Training Centre; Rautahat vs Kailali, Lalitpur Surkhet, Panchthar vs Baglung and Sunsai vs Chitwan at Buddhi Bikash Mandal ground; Dang vs Dolakha and Jhapa vs Banke at Sano Gaucharan ground.
