Triple gold for Sunita

KATHMANDU: Sunita Rana Magar clinched triple gold medals here at the National Junior Gymnastics Championship on Monday. Rana Magar clinched the Girls’ Allround, Vaulting Horse and Floor Exercise gold medals. Likewise, Sudin Ranjit also won two gold medals in Boys’ Allround with 18.40 points and Vaulting Horse gold with 12.5 points. Dewal Ram Chaudhary bagged the Boys’ Floor Exercise honour. In all, 35 gymnasts took part in the event organised by Nepal Gymnastic Association. Top three winners in each event got Rs 2,000, Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,000 respectively. — HNS

Lama, Singh triumph

KATHMANDU: Rajan Lama and Suraj Singh of Sankata Savings and Credit Cooperative won their respective matches here at the Sankata Inter-cooperative Snooker Championship on Monday. Lama beat Kiran Shrestha 3-0 while Singh saw off Furi Sherpa 3-1. Winners on Monday also include Chhopal Sherpa, Bikram Maharjan, Kunga Lama, Jite Lama, Pravin Shakya, Sushen Shakya, Akash Shrestha, Roshan Thapa Magar, Diken Suwal, Suman Gurung, Nirmal Bogati, Sachham Shrestha, Buddha Lama, Kichaman Chitrakar, Bhuwan Shrestha, Nirajan Tuladhar, Chhiring Sherpa and Dipu Shakya. — HNS
