Kathmandu, January 23:

A symposium on ‘Vision of New Nepal: Concept of e-governance,’ jointly organised by the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology, e-governance Awareness Committee and National Information and Technology Centre (NITC) concluded here today.

Speaking at the programme Minister for Environment, Science and Technology Ganesh Sah said that all sectors should try to reap the benefits ICT.

He also expressed hope that the ICT would help CA members to draft the new constitution.

Presenting a paper, Dr Subarna Shakya, executive director, NITC, said e-governance was to computerise the existing government working system and save the time and cost as well as to create transparency for a corruption-free society.

He opined that all government offices should be integrated into a computer network to implement e-governance and establish an integrated information and statistics centre.
