Workers’ Cup
BHAKTAPUR: Nepal APF Club, Nepal Police Club (NPC) and Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) entered the semi-finals of the sixth Nationwide Workers’ Cup Volleyball Tournament. APF beat Banepa Municipality 25-15, 25-13, 25-17, while NPC defeated Madhyapur Thimi 27-25, 25-21, 25-17 and TAC saw off Banepa Municipality 27-25, 25-21, 25-17. In a match between the volleyball training centres, Myagdi beat Jawalakhel 25-16, 21-25, 25-17, 25-16 win over. — HNS
Rupandehi win
BHAIRAHAWA: Rupandehi defeated Nawalparasi by 129 runs in the inaugural match of the U-19 Regional Cricket Tournament. Rupandehi made 183-6 in 35 overs and restricted Nawalparasi for 54 runs in 30.3 overs. Subash Pradhan scored 64 while Suraj Harijan made 41 for the winners. For Nawalparasi, Sanjog Pulami contributed 17 runs. — HNS
Pulchowk advance
KATHMANDU: Pulchowk Engineering College ‘A’ and Cathford Engineering College advanced to the quarter-finals of the Advance Inter-Technical Football Tournament here on Monday. Pulchowk beat NCIT 2-0 on goals from Sanjay Lama and Utsav Dhungana while Cathford received a walkover victory from Thapathali College. In another match, Himalaya Engineering College were held to 1-1 draw by Kathmandu Engineering College (KEC). — HNS
