Dang, February 3:

The Dang chapter of Tharuhat Autonomous State Council has padlocked six VDC offices in Dang accusing them of not providing donation and not inviting the council representatives to VDC meetings.

The council seized the attendance registers and keys of some VDCs and threatened some VDC secretaries. The offices of Tarigaun and Urhari VDCs were padlocked today. However, the padlock in Halwar VDC was broken today. The offices of Bela, Gadwa and Gangapur VDCs were also padlocked yesterday.

The lockout should end in coordination with the civil society, political parties and local organisations, said Madhu Sudan Poudel, an officer at Dang DDC. “We have informed Minister for Information and Communications and Chief District Officer about the issue.”
