Pokhara, February 5:
Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) routed Sahara UK 4-0 to set up a title clash with defending champions Nepal Police Club (NPC) at the seventh Aaha Gold Cup today.
Santosh Nepali, Raju Tamang, Bikarna Shrestha and Chakra Tamang scored for the TAC. Nepali gave the TAC a lead in 40th minute following a cross from
Shiva Chaudhary before Raju Tamang found his name in the score sheet thanks to a blunder from Sahara UK goalie Dilip Chhetri a minute later. Chhetri failed to gather Raju’s attempt cleanly and spilled the ball across the goalline.
Bikarna Shrestha made it 3-0 in the 74th minute, scoring on a pass from Mahendra Khawas. Substitute Chakra Tamang completed the rout adding fourth goal in the 90th minute. It will be the second time in a row that the two departmental teams are vying for the championship. Defending champions NPC and Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club made it to the final last year.
The final is on Saturday at the Pokhara Stadium.
