LALITPUR: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) defeated Qatar by three wickets to win the third place play-off here at the Pulchowk Engineering College grounds on Wednesday.

Batting first, Qatar were all out for 133 in the 31.2 overs with Faizan Ahmed completing a half century (54). Malaysian skipper Mohammad Salar Waqar claimed 6-27 and Ameya Dinge took 3-11. In reply, skipper Waqar again led his team with the top score of 33 runs as

they surpassed the total losing seven wickets in 25.3 overs.

In the fifth place decider, Bahrain beat Hong Kong by five wickets. Batting first, Hong Kong made 132 in 38.4 overs with Mitchell Grae Abernethy contributing 48 runs. In reply, man

of the match Syrus D’Souza struck an unbeaten 60 to steer Bahrain home in the 36th over.
