Strike hits Sarlahi

By Himalayan News Service

Sarlahi, February 14:

The strike called by the locals of Haripur VDC, demanding establishment of an Integrated Administrative Service Centre in the village, paralysed normal life in the district today.

The agitating locals obstructed transport services on the roads leading to district headquarters

Malangwa and East-West Highway.

“I was compelled to walk up to 25 km from Nawalpur to Malangwa due to the strike,” said Prem Bahadur Waiba of Atrauli-7. “It’s unreasonable to trouble people by obstructing the roads,” he said.

Meanwhile, Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Rajan Mukti) called a general strike in Malangwa today. The Morcha called the bandh to protest the failure of the police to book the persons involved in torching its vehicle at Lalbandi along the East-West Highway a few days ago.
