Kathmandu, February 17:

A delegation led by Binod Bahadur Shrestha, president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) met Kirti Nidhi Bista, vice-chairman of council of ministers today and discussed about the current trade and commerce scenario in the country.

Shrestha highlighted various difficulties being faced by entrepreneurs on importing raw materials to Kathmandu and other transportations problem being faced in shipping goods to other parts of the country.

Shrestha said that the 21-point agenda recently introduced by the government will be helpful in supporting the deteriorating economic condition of the country and urged for a public-private partnership approach for its effective execution. Quoting Shrestha, the press release issued by FNCCI states that with the difficulties in transporting raw materials and equipment necessary for capital based industries, significant decrease in their production has been observed and the problem needs to be addressed effectively and efficiently.

The conflict-hit parts of the country should be supported with feasible economic projects to uplift the living status of people and peace restoration should be given priority for increasing economic activities, Shrestha said, states the release.
