NMA flays attack
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) on Saturday condemned the attack on Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara, following the death of a child admitted to the hospital. Dr Kedar Narsingh KC, general secretary of the NMA, said locals vandalised the hospital. He demanded the government to provide security for health workers and institutions, and warned of closing all health institutions if the government failed to punish the culprits. “The cabinet should approve the pending bill on security of health workers and institutions immediately,” he added. — HNS
AI Nepal’s call

It appealed for ‘zero tolerance’ against violence against women. According to a press statement issued by the AI Nepal on Saturday, it had already submitted a memorandum and signatures of more than 1,000 people to the Prime Minister, calling the PM to end all forms of violence against women.
