Kathmandu, April 3:

Purna Man Shakya took accumulated 38 points to take lead after the first day of the second Ruslan Vodka Cup golf tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club today.

Played under 7/8 handicap format, Shakya scored three points more than Aang Norbu Sherpa and Capt HB Thapa. Sherpa

is in second position on count back. Pradeep Kumar Shrestha is leading the longest drive section with JB Shrestha is closest to the pin after the first day of the play.

A total of 31 golfers played their rounds on the first day, while another 50 will play on Saturday. The player with the maximum points will be declared the winner, who will receive two round tickets to Bangkok. The runner up will get two return tickets to Pokhara and stay at The Pokhara Grande. The winners will also receive gift hampers from The Himalayan Times, The Boss, Hotel Yak & Yeti, Radisson Hotel and Shangri-La Hotel.
