Kathmandu, April 18 : The planned central secretariat meeting of the ruling Unified CPN-Maoist was put off today, as most of the members of the 15-member powerful body had busy schedules outside the capital. The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday. Party spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said they had informal discussions on current political scenario, functioning of the coalition government and future plan of actions. Senior leader CP Gajurel, however, said the meeting was supposed to work out detailed plan of action on the implementation of the decisions taken by the party’s national level cadres’ meet held at Kharipati, Bhaktapur, a few months ago and the decisions taken by the unity convention held between the then CPN-Maoist and the then CPN-Unity Centre (Masal). Gajurel said the central secretariat meeting on Tuesday would discuss the plans to implement the decisions taken by both the meetings. Meanwhile, CPN-UML President Jhala Nath Khanal left the capital for Beijing on a weeklong visit to the northern neighbour. Accompanied by party’s vice president Ashok Rai, secretary Yuvaraj Gyawali, Surendra Pandey and Raghu Pant, Khanal is scheduled to meet top leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and other government officials during his stay in the Chinese capital. He was seen off by party general secretary Ishwor Pokharel and other leaders at TIA.
