Sadhu, priest meet gory end in Kaski

POKHARA: A priest and a sadhu were killed in separate incidents in Kaski district on late Saturday night. Mukti Prasad Pokharel (60), a priest at a Shiva temple in Pokhara-18, was killed in the temple premises last night. Pokharel had been living in the temple for over a decade. According to the police, Pokharel had bruises on all over his body. 'His body was found inside a sack,' Rajendra Pariya, a local, said. Two elderly persons living in the temple have left the scene from this morning following Pokharel's murder, DSP at Kaski district police office, Tulasi Adhikari said. In another incident, Tarananda Poudel Giri (85) of Bhalam VDC was hacked to death at Harihar Cave Ashram in the VDC last night. Giri was stuck with sharp weapons on the neck and head. Giri had been living in the ashram since the last 16 years. Trilochan Poudel, vice-president of the ashram management committee, said cash and valuables worth Rs 100,000 were missing from the ashram. He also said that Giri always used to keep the ashram's door open.
