Meet on higher secondary level ahead of examination

POKHARA: Students appearing in the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) examination are facing trouble due to their minor mistakes while filling their registration and examination forms. According to officials concerned, the students are facing trouble as they don’t write their correct information in their registration and examination forms. “Though it looks like a minor mistake, it may affect not only the student but also the HSEB,” said Dambar Batas, chief of the HSEB branch office in Pokhara. He also said that some students take their answer sheets with them and claim their results later. “Some students also write their registration and symbol number wrong on the answer sheets,” Batas added. Addressing an interaction of the chiefs of examination centres of Gandaki and Dhaulagiri zones, member secretary of the HSEB Ram Bahadur Khadka said they had been facing difficulties as some students forcefully enter the examination hall without filling their registration or examination forms. “We should stop such practice as some students even commit suicide because of such minor mistakes,” he added. However, teachers teaching at the higher secondary level said the higher secondary schools should move forward by correcting such mistakes. Govinda Parajuli, a higher secondary level teacher at the local Kanya Campus, said, “We make sure that we send correct information. But we get different information on the mark sheets.” He regretted that it had been taking long time to correct such mistakes. “We have been facing difficulties as the government hasn’t managed teachers for higher secondary schools yet,” Parajuli added, urging the HSEB to carry out necessary evaluations after the exams are completed. The examination of higher secondary level is starting from April 29.
