Q1. I have a dusky complexion with high cheekbones and large eyes. Which colour of the eye shadow do you recommend for me to use?
Ans.Use neutral that is beige shades. Try and avoid blues, green and frosted ones.
Q2. My blusher never lasts. How do I prolong the duration of the colour on my cheeks?
Ans.Choose a dark blush [avoid red tones] and apply to the cheekbones in small doses twice. For Asian skins, tawny shades, russets and peaches work best. After you dust over the blusher with pressed powder, pat a damp cotton ball to set the colour on your cheeks.
Q3. I have a fair complexion, but my forehead, the area around my eyes and lips and my neck appear pale. It makes me look sick. I don’t use any makeup. Please help.
Ans.The patchiness of complexion could be due to vitamin and iron deficiencies. Treat it. As for cosmetic camouflage use a cover stick which is a shade darker than your normal skin tone to touch up all the pale spots. Cover it with a thin coat of foundation and then use loose powder.
Q4. I’m a 17-year-old fair complexioned girl. Although I never use lipstick, my lips are very dark. Could you please recommend an effective remedy for making them light and pink in colour?
Ans.Regularly apply fresh cream mixed with a few drops of lemon juice, leave it on for sometimes and wash it off.
Q5. My eyeliner always looks a bit harsh. I want a soft, smoky, “big eyes” look. How do I get that?
Ans.Apply a thin line from the inner to the outer corner of your upper lid, never on your lower lid. After it dries, run a soft tip pencil of the same colour as the liner over the line you have drawn. Finally, run a damp cotton bud over the line. Your smudged smoky effect. Never use a black liner…navy, chocolate or dark grey would be a better bet.
Q6. Since I have started moving out in the sun, my glowing skin has turned dull and dehydrated. How can I improve the texture of the skin and get it back to its normal state?
Ans.To keep your skin glowing you must improve your diet. Start eating lots of vegetables, fruits and milk. Exercise for at least 45 minutes a day. Cleanse your face 2-3 times a day with face wash and use a sunscreen with SPF of more than 30 everyday.
Q7. What is the shell life of a cosmetic?
Ans. It is always better to discard cosmetics after two-three years. Otherwise it can lead to infections or allergic reactions.
