MANILA: Asia-Pacific nations began a conference in the Philippines on Tuesday to discuss preventing the swine flu alert from disrupting international travel. Transport ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum said they would work with their health ministers to limit the effect of the outbreak on global traffic. Nineteen of the 21 Asia-Pacific nations are taking part in the meeting. Mexico did not send any representative to the meet.
