CAN launches new website

Kathmandu, January 3:
Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) launched its new website www.can.org.np.
The new website is the improvement of its already existing website. CAN, which started its operation more than a decade ago, has been actively working for the promotion of information technology in Nepal.
The new website consists of information regarding IT Policy, Electronic Transaction Ordinance and Telecommunication Policy. The website also holds information on various works and programmes being implemented by CAN, research and studies conducted on IT and newsletters related to the information technology trend in Nepal.
Meanwhile CAN, Lumbini organsied a one-day workshop on Electronic Transactions Act in Butwal recently. Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Prasad Koirala, chief justice at Butwal Appellate Court, said that electronic transactions will be soon used widely.
Biplav Man Singh, president of CAN said that the 21st century is the century of information technology.
