VIENNA: Austrian 80s pop-star Falco, famous for his hit "Rock Me Amadeus", will soon have a street named after him in his hometown of Vienna, the city announced Tuesday. "Falcogasse", or Falco Lane, will be inaugurated on June 5 near where his mother used to live in Donaustadt, an outer district of the capital. Falco, who died at 40 in a car crash in the Dominican Republic in 1998, was one of the few Austrian artists to make it big in the international music scene, even topping the US charts in 1986 with "Rock Me Amadeus". Other international hits included "Der Kommissar", "Vienna Calling" and "Jeanny". During his career, the artist, whose real name was Johann Hoelzel, sold over 60 million records.
