JANAKPURDHAM: Two people were shot dead in a police encounter at the border between the Janakpur municipality and Purtha VDC in Dhanusha district on Sunday morning.

According to DSP of Dhanusha,Yagya Prasad Shivakoti, one of the deceased has been identified as Udgar Mandal, of Dhanushadham-4, and another man's identity is yet to be confirmed.The clash erupted when security personnel tried to free Ram Dular Sah, proprietor of Ganesh Brick Factory from the captivity of kidnappers. He was kidnapped one week ago.
