ITAHARI:CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal on Saturday said that groupism was flourishing in party’s rank and file. Addressing the party leaders gathered here today, Khanal said the reason behind the defeat of UML’s senior leaders in the Constituent Assembly polls was groupism. He also warned that the groups and internal rivalry among the party leaders would finish the party and its activists. “If this disease is not stopped soon, the future of the party will become uncertain. I want to move the party forward in an unbiased manner. Meanwhile, Khanal revealed that he had agreed on the Maoists’ proposal to seek clarification from Chief of Army Staff Rookmangud Katawal. “Yes, I had given my consent for that. But I had not given my consent on the content of the clarification,” he said, adding, “That is why the issue heightened.” Khanal also made it clear that no political party should bring the Nepali Army into debate as it is under the control of the government.
