Lady luck has smiled on Bipana Thapa — one of the leading actresses of Kollywood. She has been offered a leading role in an English movie ‘Remember Me’. The film also features Arunima Lhamsal, a new face in Kollywood. To elaborate on the details of the film a press conference was held at Reporters Club, Putalisadak on January 7.
The film is a joint venture of JMT Productions and Golden Sun Movies – London- and Singapore-based production houses.
Bipana shared, “This is the first time I am appearing in an English movie and I am glad to do it. I think the opportunity given to me is something Nepali film industry will be proud of. I didn’t face any difficulty while going through the English script. I think I will justify the character I’ve been chosen for.”
She will be flying to Singapore, Malaysia, UK and Australia for the shooting. “’Remember Me’ is a super natural and revenge thriller movie,” Bipana informed.
The plot of the movie revolves around Anita (to be played by Bipana) who takes the revenge of her parent’s death. She is a piano teacher and one of her students (Joe) loves her very much. He is crazy about her but she is already married to Richard. Her father is a wealthy and powerful businessman and lives in London with his other wife. Her own mother expired when she was young. Her uncle murders her father for property.
The producer of the film is Suresh and Harris T C N. Director and Cinematographer is Antony Joy, action director is Yogendra and Sudan KC is the first assistant director. Sudan stated, “I am happy to be involved in this film. I have got a chance to learn many things.”
The producers had offered the role at first to Bollywood actresses Karishma Kapoor and Mahima Chaudhary. The shooting starts from January 11 in Singapore.
