Drug peddlers held ROLPA: The Area Police Office, Sulichaur, held 10 persons with 200 kilogram of opium and 18 kg of marijuana from Sulichaur bazaar in Rolpa district on Friday night. The arrested drug peddlars have been identified as Jayaman Rokka, Pradip Rokka, Suk Bahadur Pun and Manoj Rokka of Rolpa, Sher Bahadur Gharti, Bharat Pun, Ghat BK, Dal Bahadur BK and Man Bahadur BK of Baglung and Hari Bahadur Chaudhari of Kapilvastu. The police have begun necessary investigation, Superintendent of Police Diwash Lohani said. — HNS

Car mishap kills one HETAUDA: A person was killed and two were injured when a car met with an accident at Daman along the Tribhuvan Highway on Friday night. The car was heading to Kathmandu from Hetauda. Janardan Acharya, 45, a resident of Kathmandu died on the spot when the car skidded off the road falling 150 metres down, Palung Area Police Office said. — HNS

Health students’ stir BIRATNAGAR: Students of Nepal Homeopathic Medical College, Biratnagar, have launched an agitation to protest the incompatibility of the rules and regulations of the college with Nepal Health Entrepreneurs' Council and Purbanchal University. The students have proposed the formation of Nepal Homeopathic Medical Council to regulate homeopathic medicines and establishment of national institutes of homeopathic study, among others. They have also called on the college administration to implement the terms and conditions set by the Purbanchal University. — RSS
