SEOUL: 'Nepal: Land of Culture, Nature and Opportunity,' an exhibition on Nepali Buddhist culture, is being held at a local cultural center in Seoul from June 22 through July 4, 2009, reports Seoul Times.

The exhibition was organised by Nepali Ambassador to South Korea Kamal Prasad Koirala in his efforts for introducing Nepali culture to the Korean people.

The opening ceremony hosted by Amb. Koirala on June 22 at the Korean Foundation Cultural Center, attracted a number of both Korean and international people including foreign diplomats serving in Seoul.

Among the VIP guests were ex-Prime Minister Han Myeong-Sook and world famous alpinist Um Hong-Gil.

The opening ceremony, which kicked off at 5:30 p.m., was followed by dinner reception and cultural performances.

'It will be the opportunity to introduce Nepal, displaying paintings and traditional crafts,' Koirala said. 'I hope it will enhances both countries' cooperation and interests'

The exhibition features the beautiful scenery and people of Nepal through some 100 pieces of miniatures, genre paintings, portraits, traditional musical instruments, and metal and wooden crafts.
