Three killed in mishap PARVAT: Three persons were killed and 11 injured when a mini truck met with an accident at Uram VDC in Parvat district on Monday. The truck was en route Waling of Syangja from Bagi of Parvat. Among the deceased, two of them had died on the spot while the third breathed his last on the way to a hospital, the Parvat District Police Office said. The deceased have been identified as Jhalak Bahadur Shrestha and Gamata Bhusal of Bagibhanjyang-9 and Durga Bhurtel of Shaligram-4. The injured are undergoing treatment in Waling Primary Health Centre while three of the critically injured were taken to Pokhara for further treatment. The ill-fated truck had skidded off the road falling 300 metres down. — HNS 23 hurt in accident HETAUDA: Twenty-three persons were injured in a road mishap in Makwanpur district on Monday. The accident occurred when a truck heading to Hatiya from Padampokhari met with an accident at Kamane in Hetauda, District Police Office said. The passengers of the truck were going to attend a wedding party. Condition of eight passengers is critical and they are undergoing treatment in Hetauda and Chitwan, police said. — HNS Five held for murder DAMAK: A case was filed against a gang of five persons for allegedly killing a person in Damak on Sunday. Narendra Paudel, a resident of Damak who was stabbed by the gang, died while undergoing treatment in BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, on Friday. Purna Kumar Rai and Khusi Tamang of Chulachuli, Ilam, Yogesh Khatiwada and Dipesh Khatiwada of Damak and Meena Bhandari of Maharanijhora have been accused of the murder, Damak Area Police Office said. --HNS
