KATHMANDU: An International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) representatives today expressed satisfaction over Nepal's preparation for the Pepsi World Cricket League Division-V tournament slated to begin here in January. ICC Development Events Manager Andrew Faichney and ACC Development Manager Bandula Warnapura inspected TU Stadium in Kirtipur and Pulchowk Engineering grounds today. President of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Binay Raj Pandey informed the duo about Nepal’s preparation. CAN is using three venues — TU Stadium (Kathmandu), Engineering College (Lalitpur) and Army School (Bhaktapur) grounds — for the six-nation tournament. The four Division-V teams of Nepal, Fiji, the United States and Jersey will be joined by the top two teams from the Division-VI tournament to be held in Singapore. This is the first time Nepal is hosting an ICC event. CAN is expected to spend about Rs 8 million for the infrastructure. ICC and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) have already released $300,000 for the infrastructural development. The inspectors are scheduled to visit Army School grounds on Monday. Faichney and Warnapura are also set to meet Youth and Sports Minister Gopal Nepal and the National Sports Council member secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha on Monday.
