KATHMANDU: The breakaway faction of the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum led by Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar today registered a new party, Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Loktantrik, in the election commission. The new party includes a 19-member central committee chaired by DPM Gachhadar. Gachhadar faction of the MJF registered a new party as the election commission ruled that Upendra Yadav-led faction was the original MJF. Speaking to mediapersons after registering the new party, DPM Gachhadar said his party would have a unique and new identity. He added that he would soon expand the central committee. However, he expressed dissatisfaction over the election commission’s recent decision to give official status of the MJF to the Upendra Yadav-led faction. He said, “We accept the verdict of the commission but the decision was unfair, as we had the majority in the central committee and the parliamentary party.”
