Kathmandu, March 26:
Disgruntled with the party’s decision to give all organisational rights and executive powers to party chairman Pashupati SJB Rana, some central working committee (CWC) members have decided to “challenge” the move. Leaders, including party vice-chairman Padma Sunder Lawati, are meeting on Monday to discuss the wrangling inside the party, “sort out” differences and defy the “undemocratic” move of the party leadership. “Earlier, we were supposed to meet tomorrow, but since I need to go to my constituency, we have planned the meet for Monday,” Lawati said. “Since the meeting was called in a very short notice, this is an undemocratic move,” he said, referring to the CWC meeting held on March 23. Lawati came down heavily on Rana for “imposing the traditional Rana way” of decision in the party. This has been opposed by the majority of party cadres and we cannot go against their desires,” he said.
