Janak, Radhika set up all-Morang final

LALITPUR: Janak Boarding School and Radhika Secondary School, both from Morang, advanced to the final of the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school National Football Tournament here at the ANFA Complex today. Tularam Dhami and Arun Kumar Majhi scored a goal each as Janak School defeated Sautha Higher Secondary School 2-0 in the all-Morang clash, while Radhika School outplayed Arunodaya School of Kathmandu. Bhakta Bhandari scored a brace and Rajin Dhimal and Suku Rai also scored for Radhika School. In the first semi-final match, Janak School took an early lead through the ninth minute goal from Tularam Dhami, while Arun Kumar Majhi doubled the tally scoring in the 60th minute to end last year’s runners up Sautha’s excellent run in the tournament. In the other match, Radhika School dominated the field throughout the 90 minutes with Bhakta Bhandari scoring a brace. Bhandari provided Radhika with the lead scoring in the 30th minute before Rajin Dhimal doubled the lead in the 51st minute. Bhandari made it 3-0 with his second goal of the match six minutes later. Suku Rai put the issue beyond doubt scoring in the 79th minute. The final and third place matches are on Tuesday. The top four teams of the tournament, organised by All Nepal Football Association under the sponsorship of Bottlers Nepal Pvt Ltd, will receive Rs 200,000, Rs 100,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.
