TANAHUN: Six persons were killed and another 62 got injured when a passenger bus skidded 500 m off the road at Kahare in Byas Municipality-9 on Monday afternoon. The bus, which was coming from Damauli, was bound for Bhorletar in Lamjung. Five persons died on the spot, said District Police Office, Tanahun. The victims have been identified as Krishna Prasad Bhusal (40) of Syangja, Prem Shrestha (26) of Kyamin-7, Chandra Gurung (30) of Bhoteodar, Tarkughat, Birmaya Kumal of Bhanu-6, Chudi, Surya Bahadur Nepali (8) of Byas-6 and Sunam Lama (12) of Kyamin-9. Forty-five passengers are undergoing treatment at Gandaki Hospital. Rescue operations are on. The driver and conductor are absconding.
