Madhesi parties prote PARASI: Madhesh based political parties and their sister organisations demonstrated in Parasi today to protest the Apex Court's order to the Vice-President Parmananda Jha to take oath in Nepali within seven days. Demanding withdrawal of the Supreme Court's decision, Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum, Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party demonstrated separately in Parasi Bazaar today. The demonstrators also demanded to withdraw the decision of the Supreme Court after declaring the Hindi language as a contact Language. The demonstrators also obstructed the highway for one hour. —HNS Mishap claims two POKHARA: Two persons lost their lives in as many accidents in Pokhara on Tuesday. Indra Kumari CK, 77, of Nadipur died when she was swept away by Seti Canal at Narayansthan. Police said her body was found in Chauthe. In another mishap, Dil Bahadur Thapa, 36, of Sarangkot VDC, died in Malepatan after he was hit by a mini-truck. Seriously injured Thapa breathed his last while he was undergoing treatment in Western Regional Hospital. Truck driver Tek Bahadur Chhetri has been held, police said. — HNS Man falls off jeep, dies MYAGDI: One person was killed in a road accident in Mustang district on Tuesday. Tshiring Gurung (53), a resident of Muktinath-8, died when he fell off the hood of a jeep, Mustang District Police Office said. Gurung, who was traveling on the hood after consuming alcohol, fell off the jeep when the driver slammed on the brakes all of a sudden, police said. The driver, along with the vehicle, have been taken under control. — HNS Two held with arms DAMAK: Police on Monday night arrested two persons with two country-made pistols and three rounds of bullets from Jhapa's Damak. Acting upon local residents' tip off, the police arrested Bibek Limbu of Damak-3, Prem Bista of Damak-13 and three others from a hotel in Damak-13. The police also confiscated fake notes of Rs 1,000 denomination from them. The police, however, declined to give the names of the other three. — HNS
