Buddhists protest Shakya’s appointment

LALITPUR: A joint-struggle committee formed by more than 13 Buddhist organisations on Thursday morning padlocked the Gumba Management and Development Committee (GMDC) protesting the appointment of Bekha Ratna Shakya as the president of GMDC. But the police immediately opened them and arrested a few protestors. The government appointed Shakya on September 4.
