SANKHUWASABHA: Armed Police Force (APF) is going to set up its base camp in the district headquarters Khandbari. This is the second time the APF camp has beenestablished. Chiefs of security bodies in the district inspected the proposed camp site at Panitanki near Manebhanjyang of Khandbari-3 today. Chief District Officer Tulasi Prasad Gautam said the move follows the government decisionof keeping border security forces in the districts bordering China. Sankhuwasabha is among the 14mountainous districts bordering China.“We’ve completed necessary preparation to this effect and the camp will be established shortly,” he said. Earlier, the APF base camp in Khandbari was relocated following the completion of the Constituent Assembly election. An APF camp will also be established at the Kimathanka border — the main entry point along the Nepal-China border. A security source said the recent move was aimed at checking criminal activities in the Nepal-China border area.
