MYAGDI: Although more than 50,000 chyangras (Himalayan goats) have been brought in from Upper Mustang and Tibet for this Dashain and Tihar, the price of the same has skyrocketed in local markets. Nepali traders said the price was increased as they too paid more sum to the local traders due to price hike in Tibet. The chyangras will be supplied to Pokhara, Baglung, Parbat and other districts. Businessman Malla Khadka of Baglung Bhimpokhara said he had to purchase the Himalayan goat in expensive rate than that of last year. According to him, the price per chyangra has increased by as much as Rs 1,500 this year. "Due to the expensive price, people are reluctant to buy the chyangras," he said. A local businessman of Mustang Indradhara Bista said more than 50,000 chyangras and sheep were sent out of district by Saturday. Veterinary Office Mustang has been checking the health of the Himalayan goats before they are herded out of the district, said chief of District Veterinary Office Mustang Dr Guru Prasad Khakurel.
