PHIDIM: Panchthar Community Library, which was established in Phidim Bazaar some 17 years ago, had its official inauguration on Wednesday. The library was established in 2049 BS with the assistance of Rural Education and Development (RED). Dr Antonia Newbaber, founder president of RED, inaugurated the library amidst a programme. Speaking at the programme, she said that she got the idea of opening a library while she was in Solukhumbu 20 years back. She informed that she has plans for 250 libraries across the country. "Through the library, my dream of contributing to the education sector of Nepal has been fulfilled," she said lauding the cooperation of Nepalis. The library re-opened after a recent assistance of Rs 1.4 million from the RED.
