KATHMANDU: The CAN-XI defeated SIDCO Cricket Club of Mumbai by eight wickets in a friendly match here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today. CAN XI successfully chased the target of 73 runs in 7.1 overs losing two wickets in the 40-over-a-side match. Gyanendra Malla smashed 21 runs of 9 balls to remain unbeaten along with Sarad Vesawkar (16). Opener duo Paresh Lohani and Dipendra Chaudhary scored 16 runs each. Earlier, Mehboob Alam picked up five wickets to bundle out the visitors for a paltry 72 runs in 18.2 overs. Rahul Kumar BK picked up two while Binod Das and Amrit Bhattarai took one wicket each. Kailash Mhatre topscored the visitors’ card with 27 runs from 14 balls. Kapil Kohli made 19 runs.
