Crime on the rise in mid-west

HETAUDA: Mid-Western Development Region has seen a rise in criminal activities in the past few days. According to a report provided by the regional police headquarters, incidents of brawl, thrashing, explosion, vandalism, arson and killing have been growing in districts across the region. Between Thursday afternoon and Friday, clashes took place in Rautahat and Bara districts, explosion in Sarlahi, arson in Kavre and murder attempt in Sindhupalchowk. In Bara’s Kacharba, a clash erupted between contractors and villagers, to be quelled only by a police firing. Four persons were hurt in the case. An explosion injured Khesar Mahato in Sarlahi’s Shiva Dasko Gaddi. In Sindhupalchowk, aurally-impaired Krishnaman Shrestha, 42, was hurt when he was shot by Saila Thami during a festival in Lateshowri Mahadev Temple.
