KATHMANDU: Nepal lost their fourth consecutive basketball match in succession during the third Asian Indoor Games in Hanoi, Vietnam on Tuesday. Nepal conceded 14, 16 and three points while scoring just six points each in first two quarters and three in the third quarter during their 33-14 against India. Played under FIBA Three-on-Three format, teams scoring 33 points first wins the match. Nepal had lost their previous matches against Kuwait, Jordan and Thailand while they take on Qatar in the last league match. Meanwhile, archers Jit Bahadur Moktan and Prem Prasad Pun advanced to the elimination round in the men’s singles Recurve event. However, Ashim Sherchan and Janak Bhattachan crashed out from the qualifying round. Moktan and Pun faced each other in the elimination round where the latter won 116-107. Moktan then was ousted in the quarter-finals, losing 117-112 against Wu Jin Kim of South Korea. Nepal will now compete in the team event on Friday. Nepal have already been eliminated in the women’s boxing and men’s singles snooker tournament.
