ITAHARI: Base camps under the Kankalini Mai Battalion of the Armed Police Force (APF) seized a huge amount of drugs, fertilisers and other goods smuggled into the country from India within the past few days. An APF patrol seized four persons with forbidden drugs during a security check at Gangabari on the Biratnagar-Itahari road. APF SP Kishor Pradhan said Kale Rai (23) and Jiban Rai (17) of Dharan, Shankar Dahal (25) and Joni Rai of Morang's Indrapur were held with 16 Notros tablets and 74 doses of injection. They have been detained at Area Police Office Nimuwa. The police also seized 12 sacks of DAP fertiliser, 30 sacks of Urea, two sacks of sugar, 11 tins of cooking oil, 13 Kurta pieces and two bundles of cloth imported from India by evading taxes. Urlabari base camp arrested motorcyclist Buddhiman Shrestha of Morang's Dangihat with 111 lids of rum, 65 stickers, nine empty bottles and a mobile set during a check on the Campus Road. He was riding an 'on test' motorcycle. SP Pradhan claimed that the security bases had implemented a special strategy.
