LOS ANGELES: California cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs apologized to Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren in an interview with a US tabloid television program for having an affair with the golf superstar. "I couldn't describe how remorseful that I am to have hurt her family and her emotionally," Grubbs told the syndicated tabloid TV show "Extra" in a show broadcast late on Wednesday. "If it wasn't me, it was going to be other girls," said Grubbs, 24. "I did care about him -- I didn't do it for superficial reasons. I didn't do it to purposely hurt her." Grubbs earlier told gossip magazine Us Weekly that she had a 31-month affair with Woods, and presented voice and text messages as proof. The billionaire golfer's clean cut role model image has been battered in recent weeks by allegations from at least nine other women that they had affairs with him. Woods, 33, has gone underground since he crashed his car just outside his Florida mansion on November 27, allegedly after an argument with his wife over a reported affair with a New York night club hostess. He did however apologize for "personal sins" and "transgressions" in a December 2 statement. Grubbs, who said she last saw Woods on October 18, said that she was especially hurt by reports of his affairs with other women. Woods made her "feel like I was the only girl," Grubbs told Extra, so hearing about the other women "was devastating. It hurts." Nevertheless Grubbs thinks Woods and his wife should "try to work" out their relationship. But if they split? "I can't say that I would ever go back to him," Grubbs said. "I would definitely have a relationship with him ... but as far as going back to him emotionally like I was -- I don't know if I can put myself through that again." If she had a chance, "I would tell him that no part of our relationship was fake and I cared for him," Grubbs told Extra. "I am sorry that everything is coming out and happening the way it did, but I needed to get everything off my chest," she said.
