KATHMANDU: The statutory committee of the Cabinet today identified six zones to be developed as tourism regions. Tourism minister Sharat Singh Bhandari said six separate tourism promotion committees were also formed to develop the regions as tourist destinations. They include Birat, Shailesh, Mithila, Lumbini, Simraungadh and Karnali Tourism Promotion Committees. Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari districts come under the Birat Tourism Promotion Committee while Dhanusha, Mahottari and Sarlahi districts fall under the Mithila Tourism Promotion Committee.
