NC, UML to act tough if Maoists fail to return seized properties

DHADING: The CPN-UML and Nepali Congress today warned of retaliation if the Opposition, Unified CPN-Maoist, did not return the land seized from local residents in the district soon. The former rebels seized 15 ropanis and 12 anas of land in Naubise-1 on December 19. The seized property belongs to Badri Prasad Acharaya, Bishnu Prasad Acharaya, Hari Prasad Acharaya, Dayanidhi Acharaya, Him Prasad Acharaya, Dhurba Prasad Acharaya and Rom Kumari Acharaya. CPN-UML district committee has threatened to retaliate if the Maoists did not return the seized land. Meanwhile, NC district committee has also warned of action if the property was not returned soon. UML district chairman Guru Prasad Burlakoti and NC district president Ramnath Adhikari issued separate statements to that effect today. Badri Prasad Acharya is an active member of the NC and Bishnu Prasad Acharaya deputy chairman of Naubise unit of the CPN-UML.
