KATHMANDU: Demanding formation of high-level martyr commission to identify genuine martyrs in the country, Martyr Pratik Memorial Centre-Nepal today submitted a memorandum to the government through the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. According to the centre, the declaration of martyrs by the government and political parties including the UCPN-M was biased and it excluded the real martyrs. “We have demanded the government to correct the earlier decisions of declaration of martyrs,” said JB Dhaulakoti, president of the centre. “The memorandum will be forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs,” he added. Meanwhile, Dhaulakoti warned of protest if the demands were not met within a week. The centre had been organising different protest programmes for a year, now. A four-point agreement was signed with the government on September 1.
