11 killed in China mishap
BEIJING: A bus crashed head-on into a truck in southwest China on Monday, killing 11 people and injuring another 23, the government said. The accident occurred before dawn when the bus was travelling from Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, to Dali, the official Xinhua News Agency. — AP

Ex-Singapore prez dead
SINGAPORE: Former Singapore President Wee Kim Wee has died from cancer at age 89, his family said on Monday. Bill Wee said his father’s death was from “secondary cancer” arising from complications from an earlier bout with prostate cancer. — AP
