KAPILVASTU: A drinking water project worth Rs 12 million in Mahendrakot VDC of Kapilvastu district is in limbo due to lack of regular water supply in the taps. The project was constructed five years ago with the investment by the Finland government and locals. There was no regular water supply as pipes were washed away by the rivers during rainy season following the lack of protection. Locals complained that although a large amount of money was invested for the project, people are obliged to drink arsenic-laden water.
