FCAN inks MoU

KATHMANDU: Federation of Computer Association of Nepal (FCAN) has come up with National ICT Scholarship 2018-19 in partnership with Lord Buddha Education Foundation (LBEF).

The objective of the nationwide scholarship scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of the community to provide them better opportunities for higher education in ICT, increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.

LBEF is the implementing partner for this scholarship, as per a press release. A total of 49 students will be awarded scholarships throughout the country; out of which seven students will be selected from seven states of Nepal.

In this scholarship, 28 seats are allocated for female candidates and 21 seats are allocated for general category, out of which, one female from each state will get full scholarship and rest 42 students will get partial scholarships.

The MoU related to scholarship amount of Rs 18.34 million was signed by Hemant Chaurasiya, president of FCAN and Pankaj Jalan, chairperson of LBEF.
