JBSS bags Real School of Nepal 2017 title

The grand finale and prize distribution ceremony of ‘Real School of Nepal (RSoN) 2017’ was held here on Thursday, where it was announced that RSoN for the year 2017 was Jaya Bageshwari Secondary School (JBSS) from Nepalgunj and the participating students were Bipana Upadhayay, Dipesh Thapa, Suraj Bhandari, Karishma Pokharel, Ayasha Karki and Abishekh Khatri.

According to a media release issued here today, Gems Higher Secondary School from Lalitpur and Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya from Narayanghat were declared first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.

The winning school of RSoN 2017 received Rs 100,000 and each participating student from the winning school received a laptop. Similarly, first runner-up and second runner-up schools received cash prize of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 and their participating students got cash prize of Rs 30,000 (Rs 5,000 per student) and Rs 18,000 (Rs 3,000 per student), respectively.

In addition, the individual winners for the events of senior category were Upadhayay from JBSS for ‘Extempore’, Smera Singh from Gems Higher Secondary School for ‘Dance’ and Saksham Chhatkuli from Galaxy Public School for ‘Football Juggling’.

The winners in junior category were Prashanna Sthapit from Gems Higher Secondary School for ‘Painting’, Aarjan Adhikari from Gems for ‘Three Minutes to Fame’ and Ayub Miya from GHP Secondary School in Birgunj for ‘Score the Real Goal’.

For the grand finale, three different streams were added in the competition. Winners of those streams were JBSS for ‘So You Think You Can Score’, Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya for ‘Collage’ and Bal Kalyan Vidya Mandir, Biratnagar for ‘Quiz’.

Nepal’s number one fruit juice brand, Real Fruit Juice, has been supporting various school level activities and competitions for developing and nurturing talent and confidence of school children. ‘Real School of Nepal’ is a national-level competition where schools from all over Nepal compete to become the Real School of Nepal.
