Ncell service a hit

KATHMANDU: Ncell customers in flood and landslide affected districts have sent over 16.6 million text messages, utilising free SMS service provided by the company to ensure communications of customers.

The company, in a bid to support customers to stay in touch during the time of natural disaster and contribute in rescue and relief operations, had provided 50 free SMS per day per customer, as per a press statement.

Free SMS service was made available to the customers residing in government defined 23 affected districts until Tuesday (August 15) as per the directive of Nepal Telecommunications Authority.

Ncell had also made the balance transfer facility free to ensure availability of voice and data services. It had also increased amount of saapati to Rs 60.

Likewise, the company operated free emergency call centre number 9008 targeting customers in flood-hit districts to help them remain in contact with their family and friends.

Ncell has been providing various services to customers during the time of natural disasters to stay connected.
