Rs 1,000 bank note

The obverse and reverse sides of a fresh but defective bank note of 1,000-rupee denomination that was extended to a client at Dillibazar branch of Nepal Bank Ltd, in Kathmandu, on Thursday. The central bank had announced last week that it would circulate new currency notes worth around Rs 57.86 billion to the general public from Sunday in view of the festivals of Dashain, Tihar and Chhat. Since the central bank issues a huge number of fresh bank notes for the festive season, it is unable to monitor the quality of every note. Such defective notes can be taken back to NRB and exchanged for free.
