2 thefts reported in Capital

KATHMANDU: Police said that two incidents of property crime were reported in the Capital on Monday.

Cash and gold ornaments worth around Rs 120,000 were stolen from a rented room in Nayabasti of Bouddha on Monday.

According to a complaint lodged with police, unidentified thieves broke into the room of Dhruba Parajuli (38) after breaking the bolt of the main door and whisked away with Rs 20,000 in cash and various gold ornaments weighing 20 tola.

The room was unattended when the incident occurred.

Similarly, property worth around Rs 300,000 was stolen from a shop in Halchowk of Swoyambhu, KMC-15 on Monday.

Police said that unidentified thieves barged into the Karya Binayak Trade Sanitary Shop owned by Rajesh Napit after breaking the padlock of the door and decamped with the various goods.

Police said that they are looking into both cases.
